What Govt Contractors Need To Know About The New Vaccine Requirements

Covered employees are required to be fully vaccinated by December 8, and they include both contractors and subcontractors.. There are exceptions in cases where the contractor is legally required to provide an accommodation for a disability or sincerely held religious belief or practice. Contractors must also follow the CDC’s guidance for mask wearing and physical distancing, for both covered employees and visitors. A post from employment law firm Littler includes a link to the Guidance, published September 28 by the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, and discusses the major requirements in detail, starting with which employers and employees are covered. The FAQs published with the guidance say the requirements do apply to employees working remotely, unless they are eligible for an accommodation.
