Using “Forbidden” Social Media In The Hiring Process

A well-designed piece of research from Carnegie Mellon Univeristy demonstrated what many suspect: that social media inevitably provides information that is taboo in the hiring process. But attorney John Hyman, partner in the Labor & Employment group of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz, says this does not mean that companies can’t use social media to vet job prospects. There is a short explanation for this seeming paradox.
