U.S. Workers Leave Half Billion Vacation Days On The Table

According to Expedia.com’s Vacation Deprivation Study, U.S. workers left about half a billion vacation days unused last year, Stockpiling – accumulating vacation days for future trips – was the main reason employees failed to take time off, Expedia found. Complex scheduling and financial concerns were also factors. The survey of 8,535 employed adults across five continents revealed that Americans had 14 days of vacation but on average used only 10, leaving four days unused, which is twice the number as last year. The comparison with workers in Europe and Asia was an eye-opener.
