Two Cyber Cases Insurance Did Not Cover

It’s only been a few years since “data-breach” entered the lexicon of corporate mishaps, and not long after that, the vocabulary of insurance claims. The conventional scenario is: The breach, the stolen information, the uncertain fallout, and the claim. But a post from Arent Fox is a reminder that actual cases can be complicated, with convoluted relationships among the players and no certain outcome. One case discussed here involved a claim under a cyber liability policy, the other a commercial general liability (CGL) policy. Neither, the courts said, triggered coverage.
