In a somewhat complicated turn of logic, obesity can be considered a disability even if it is only regarded as such in the workplace, as the result of Americans With Disabilities Act amendments that were passed in 2009. But there is nothing complicated about the latest development on this front: The American Medical Association has officially recognized obesity as a disease.
