NLRB Mulls “Fair Share” Fees For Right-To-Work States

The NLRB has invited interested parties to file briefs on whether or not it should allow unions to charge nonmembers “fair share” fees, in the face of right-to-work laws, which have been passed in many states. Recently, an Administrative Law Judge found that one union which charged “grievance-processing” fees violated the law, but before addressing that issue the NLRB issued the call for outside opinions.
