Nanomaterial Controls Recommended By NIOSH

The National Institute on Occupational Safety and Health has released new recommendations for controlling nanomaterials in the workplace. Strategies include elimination and substitution as well as engineering controls. Increasingly common, nanomaterials are already found in more than a thousand consumer products, including makeup, sunscreen, computers and food storage containers. Concerns have been raised that their effects, particularly in the manufacturing workplace, are not sufficiently understood and in some cases could be dangerous.
