Labor Scores Twice Against Walmart

Organized labor groups trying to gain inroads at Walmart received good news this week on two separate fronts. A district court judge in California reaffirmed a decision allowing a class-action suit filed on behalf of warehouse workers in Los Angeles tocan go forward, and the National Labor Relations Board general counsel issued a formal complaint against Walmart for allegedly retaliating against striking employees in 14 states. A Walmart spokesman said the company looks forward to being “vindicated when that case advances first to an administrative law judge and then to the full five-member NLRB.
