Homeless Man Steals Law Firm Data, Goes On One-Year Spree

A man, described by prosecutors as “homeless,” got a job at a law firm through a temp agency and was able to obtain personal data on several hundred of the firm’s clients. He parlayed that into numerous credit cards, which he then used for more than a year to order merchandise and stay in hotels across the greater New York area. He was finally busted at Penn Station, trying to sell a discounted Amtrak ticket to an undercover agent. He could face up to seven years.
