Fraud In Supply Chains

More than a quarter of respondents to a recent Deloitte poll said they experienced supply chain fraud, waste or abuse in the past year. That’s about the same number that said they had no program in place to prevent and detect risks. A key finding in the study was that employees were a top source of supply chain fraud risk, before vendors or any other third party. That’s an important fact for GCs to keep in mind when designing a fraud detection/prevention program, and it explains why those who are developing such a program need to work closely with CIOs or chief information security officers.
