Employers Rethinking Pregnancy Policies, As Expecting Moms Work Later

More women are working later into pregnancy, putting employers under pressure to find ways to modify their duties as they become more difficult to perform. Wal-Mart in March quietly overhauled its pregnancy policy, after employees and unions applied sharp pressure against its practice of forcing pregnant moms to take a leave of absence earlier than they had planned. The EEOC last year received nearly 5,800 pregnancy-related complaints in 2011, from all sectors of the economy.
