They include deciding whether or not to retain external counsel and forensics experts; deciding what to tell customers and when; deciding how to handle media inquiries and public relations; and deciding how to engage law enforcement. All these decisions have one thing in common: they are easier to handle and have better outcomes if they’ve been thought through in advance.
