Can Employers Visit A Job Applicant’s Social Media Site?

A study found more than 90 percent of recruiters and hiring managers visited a hiring candidate’s profile on a social network as part of the screening process. Now an increasing number of states are passing social media password protection and privacy laws, and employers must confront a question: What social media sites can they lawfully access to obtain information about applicants and employees, and with what limitations?
