Trade Secret Law Hits Obama’s Desk

A law that will create a federal civil remedy for stealing trade secrets has passed the House and Senate, and is now waiting for approval by President Obama. The legislation, approved unanimously in the Senate, creates another avenue for the protection of intellectual property. If signed into law, the Defend Trade Secrets Act will provide plaintiffs the chance to get injunctive relief and monetary damages, and will allow for ex parte seizures of misappropriated trade secrets.
