VW Worker Says He Was Fired After Whistleblowing

A former Volkswagen employee is suing the automaker, saying he was fired after he told in-house lawyers that data subject to a hold was being automatically deleted off the company’s system, after a notice was sent from the EPA. Daniel Donovan worked as a VW project manager in Michigan, and says he was fired after he “refused to take part” in activities that could lead to “significant legal sanctions,” in light of Justice Department orders to stop deleting data. Donovan is suing for wrongful termination, but VW says the suit is “without merit.”
