Sharing Economy Companies Should Prepare For Labor Suits

Now that a California regulator has ruled that Uber drivers should be considered employees, rather than contractors, other companies in the sharing economy should be preparing for lawsuits, Kimberly Weisul writes for Inc. Companies like ride-sharing juggernaut Uber have saved enormously on labor costs by classifying their workers as independent contractors. But in anticipation of such labor suits, many have already moved to change some or all workers to employee status.
