IBM Study: Most Cyber Breaches Involve Human Error

Businesses are spending big money to make sure they have the technology they need to keep data secure but the recently published “IBM Security Services 2014 Cyber Security Intelligence Index,” which covers about 1,000 IBM clients in 133 countries, found that more than 95 percent of security incidents involve “human error.” Poor passwords, clicking on malicious links, system misconfiguration and poor patch management were some of the issues that put companies at risk in 2013, according to the report.
