White House Delays Health Insurance Mandate To 2016

Medium-sized companies – between 50 and 99 workers – will receive an extension to 2016 on the deadline for providing health care for their employees,  the White House announced yesterday. Larger firms with 100 or more employees will still have to offer coverage in 2015, but they can avoid a fine by providing 70 percent of their full-time employees health care in 2015, and 95 percent the following year.The concession by the Obama administration is the latest softening of the Affordable Care Act requirements, following a disastrous roll-out of the program in October.
