Zynga Founder Mark Pincus To Step Down As Chief Product Officer

Zynga has announced that its founder, Mark Pincus, will leave his operational role as Chief Product Officer, but will continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Pincus founded the gaming company in 2007, and saw the company quickly rise with games like FarmVille, Words With Friends and Zynga Poker. Pincus stepped down as CEO 10 months ago when he hired Don Mattrick to the position. The firm also announced that Steven Chiang, a former Electronic Arts executive and top executive at Zynga for four years, will leave the company in the next month. Several new hires include that of Alex Garden, a former Microsoft game executive, as president of Zynga Studios.
