Winston & Strawn Chair To Lead Utah’s Same-Sex Marriage Fight

The former chairman of Winston & Strawn LLP’s appellate and critical motions practice, Gene C. Schaerr, has left the firm to be lead outside counsel for the State of Utah’s fight against same sex marriage. John Bursch of Warner Norcross & Judd LLC and Monte Neil Stewart of Stewart Taylor & Morris will work with Schaerr. All have agreed to cap their fees for the case before the U.S. Court of Appeals in Denver.
