Will New Federal Rules Address The E-Discovery Dilemma?

There is mounting concern that e-discovery has become the tail wagging the dog in too much of today’s litigation – that it’s time-consuming, costly, and for all the resources it consumes, too often fails to shed much light on the matter at hand. Will proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure improve matters? Dick Thornburgh, of counsel at K&L Gates, former Attorney General of the United States and former Governor of Pennsylvania, conducts an in-depth discussion of the proposed changes and their prospects for success. Participants are Rebecca Love Kourlis, former Colorado Supreme Court Justice and now Executive Director of the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System at the University of Denver, and John J. Jablonski, a partner at the law firm Goldberg Segalla. The forum took place under the aegis of the Washington Legal Foundation and was published as part of its “Conversations With …” series.
