White Supremacist Who Wanted Judge Dead Fails Appeal

Matthew Hale, who in 2004 asked an informant to kill Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow, “produced no new evidence” to support an appeal, the 10th Circuit Appeals Court ruled. Hale was convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison. A previous attempt at an appeal in 2014 was rejected by the Seventh Circuit. Lefkow had ruled against Hale in a trademark case.
