White House Accused Of Delaying Health And Safety Rules

In a new report, a coalition of health, labor and consumer groups says regulations are languishing at the White House, specifically at the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), part of the better known Office of Management and Budget. The Coalition for Sensible Safeguards says the delay gives regulated industries more time to lobby and water down proposals. The report comes as the Senate holds a confirmation hearing on a new OIRA director.
