The use of ‘captive’ law firms – outside practices that essentially function as an in-house legal team for companies – could become more common, some analysts have suggested. It’s a familiar arrangement in the insurance industry, and it’s been suggested that CEOs in other industries could begin to see it as a way to turn the legal function into a profit center.
