Unsecured Apple Devices a Major Corporate Liability

People use Apple devices widely for work, but a recent survey showed that lack of security and management of those devices is posing a major threat to corporations nationwide. Dimensional Research polled 2,249 U.S. workers and found that nearly half – 45 percent – used at least one Apple device for work purposes, and of those devices, about two-thirds are owned by the user and used to access sensitive work information. And yet, the majority of those devices were protected by a password of merely one word, or a series of numbers. “[The] Apple survey spotlights the massive exposures that occur when devices do not comply with standard corporate security policies,” said Bill Mann, senior vice president of products and marketing for Centrify.
