UK Regulators Say Google Must Rewrite Its Privacy Policy

The UK Information Commissioner’s Office last week told Google that the current iteration of its privacy policy doesn’t give consumers enough information about how information about them will be used. The company was told to revise it by September 20 or risk an enforcement action. At issue was a 2012 policy change whereby Google aggregates information about a particular individual gathered across a number of platforms, including Gmail, Android and YouTube. Earlier this year the company came under fire for its privacy policies from the French agency CNIL.
