Trump Screams At New York Times Over Groping Story

The New York Times has published accounts from two women who claim Republican nominee Donald Trump sexually assaulted them, kissing and touching them without their consent. According to Times reporter Megan Twohey, when asked to comment on the allegations, Trump shouted, called her a “disgusting human being,” and threatened to sue the newspaper. Trump’s lawyers sent a formal letter to the Times, threatening to sue if they published the story. The newspaper stands by its account. “We did what the law allows: We published newsworthy information about a subject of deep public concern,” wrote Times attorney David E. McCraw in an official response. “If Mr. Trump disagrees, if he believes that American citizens had no right to hear what these women had to say and that the law of this country forces us and those who would dare to criticize him to stand silent or be punished, we welcome the opportunity to have a court set him straight.”
