Top UK Lawyer Hopes To Curb Social Media Influence On Trials

The British Attorney General’s office, looking to keep social media from publishing sensitive information that could lead to prejudiced court proceedings or harm crime victims, will make advisory notes currently sent to mainstream media available on Twitter and on the AG’s website. “I hope that by making this information available to the public at large, we can help stop people from inadvertently breaking the law and make sure cases are tried on the evidence, not what people have found online,” said UK Attorney General Dominic Grieve.
