Top School Law Grads Hugely Advantaged In Job Search, Survey Finds

The number of law school grads from top-tier programs unable to find jobs is 60 percent lower than those from other law programs, according to a recent analysis. For the class of 2013, those who graduated from top-50 law school programs had an unemployment rate of about five percent, versus 14 percent for those who graduated from less prestigious programs, the American Bar Association found. The number of top-50 grads in long-term, full-time jobs that require passage of the bar – 75 percent – was also markedly higher than the 50 percent of those graduating from less prestigious schools. About 30 percent of all 2013 law school grads went to a top 50 school.
