Though “Flattered,” Blackberry Suing Over Keyboard Design

Blackberry is suing a technology company for infringing on its keyboard design in an add-on accessory for iPhones. Typo Products LLC – backed by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest – is accepting pre-orders for a keyboard iPhone attachment that features angled miniature keys, similar to those used on many Blackberry devices. BlackBerry chief legal officer, Steve Zipperstein, said the company was “flattered by the desire to graft our keyboard onto other smartphones, but we will not tolerate such activity without fair compensation for using our intellectual property and out technological innovations.”
