There are many things you could look at in order to measure law firm performance, writes Aric Press, and he ticks off a few (“gross, growth, net, pipeline, profitability… et cetera.” ) But the most important “is what the clients think of the firm’s performance and, its corollary, how likely are they to use that firm in the future.” And there’s one good way to find out what clients think, he says. Ask them.
