Is the current spate of regulatory action the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning? It’s probably the former, at least as it applies to the financial crisis, given it’s been nearly five years since its onset and five years is the fraud statute of limitations. A looming question: With its announced policy of requiring admissions of guilt, is the SEC biting off more than it can chew?
