In an interview with the Washington Post, President-elect Donald Trump said his replacement plan for the Affordable Care Act would provide insurance for everybody, cost less, have lower deductibles, and would be accomplished without cuts in Medicare. He also said he expects Congress to quickly enact his proposals for major across the board tax cuts. Details of the health plan, he said, would be forthcoming after the confirmation of his nominee for secretary of health and human services, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), but it won’t be single payer. He hinted, according to the Post, that he expected to be able to sway Republicans who balk at his plan by applying the kind of pressure he applied, successfully, to keep Republicans from gutting the House independent ethics office.
