An FCC order earlier this year, regarding the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, could have some unintended consequences. What the FCC said was that nothing in its rules “prohibits carriers or VoIP providers from implementing call-blocking technology that can help consumers who choose to use such technology to stop unwanted robocalls.” What happens if it also blocks a public safety call?
