Texas State Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt Will Resign To Serve As Texas Agriculture Dept GC

State Rep. Tim Kleinschmidt (R), who won a fourth term earlier this month, plans to step down to become general counsel for the Texas Department of Agriculture. Kleinschmidt serves on the Agriculture and Livestock Committee. Kleinschmidt’s resignation will trigger a special election in House District 17, which covers several counties in Central Texas stretching downward from east of Austin.
