Ten Cybersecurity Concerns For Boards

The authors have posted a 12,000 word primer called “Ten Cybersecurity Concerns for Every Board of Directors” It is based on an understanding that this issue, formerly considered a problem for IT directors, “has quickly evolved into a board issue and responsibility, which the board has a fiduciary duty to understand and oversee.” A short introductory piece, linked below, provides some background and explains the rapid evolution to the current reality, where cyber-attacks have become virtually inevitable, and outlines what boards need to do to in order to fulfill what is now their dual responsibility: to conduct a “vigorous, skeptical, intelligent and methodical inquiry,” and to become actively involved in efforts to address the results of that inquiry.
