Telecoms Sue FCC Over Net Neutrality Rules

Though the FCC’s new rules are months away from being implemented, two lawsuits were filed this week on net neutrality. The United States Telecom Association, a trade group representing some of the largest Internet service providers, filed a suit in the D.C. Court of Appeals, and small Texas-based provider Alamo Broadband filed a lawsuit in New Orleans. The FCC’s new rules, released 11 days ago, would keep telecom services from being able to offer faster Internet to companies willing to pay more. Instead, it would oversee the Internet using regulations intended for phone utility companies.
