Tech Shuttle Drivers Settle Class Action

Nearly 90 drivers for WeDriveU, which provides Google with drivers to ferry tech workers from San Francisco to corporate campuses in Mountain View, have reached a settlement for a wage-and-hour lawsuit, though a San Francisco Superior Court has yet to give it final approval. SFGate examines the burden put on the drivers, who were paid while driving workers to and from Google, but spent the middle of each work day unpaid, waiting for the afternoon commute. An August draft of the settlement of $125,000 would ultimately pay just over $730 per driver, and does not address the split shift, a primary concern for many of the drivers.
