Sysco Merger Blocked: What Are The Takeaways?

A proposed merger between Sysco Corporation and US Foods, Inc, the two largest foodservice-distribution companies in the U.S., has been blocked by a federal district court. Chow looks at the opinion and finds four takeaways for counsel.  One of them – that proposed mergers between the two largest players in a market will trend to draw scrutiny – will by definition have limited application, but the others could become relevant in many proposed mergers.
