Survey Highlights Cybersecurity Risk To Board

A recent survey from Thomson Reuters finds that corporate boards are lagging in their adoption of basic security measures, and that they are relatively unengaged on the issue of company cybersecurity compared to other areas of potential board interest. Among the findings: There has been an increase of eight percent in the number of organizations that always encrypt board communications since the last survey, but 60 percent of organizations still say the never or “only occasionally” encrypt them. Only a quarter indicated that they always do. At the other end of the tech-scale, simply losing a device or leaving it in a public place is found to be surprisingly common.
