Strict New Cybersecurity Requirements Looming For Federal Contractors

The Department of Defense and the General Services Administration have submitted a report to the President about security standards in acquisition planning and contract administration. It’s recommendations, if implemented, would impose significant cybersecurity obligations on contractors in the entire supply chain, according to an advisory from McKenna Long & Aldridge. Companies that failed to meet certain defined standards would not be eligible for contracts. This advisory covers the six recommendations in the report and discusses some of the questions they raise for contractors and potential contractors.
