Stretchy Sports Bra Patent In Dispute

Hanesbrands Inc. says another company is copying its design for a stretchy sports bra without permission. The company is suing Jacques Moret Inc., which sells bras under a Jockey International license. Hanesbrands filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, and is demanding a jury trial. The patent in question – known as the 664 patent – was registered in October 2000, and was later acquired by Hanesbrands. Jacques Moret “was and continues to be willfully blind to the existence (of the patent)” and continues to infringe, Hanesbrands wrote in the suit.
