Despite having a history of stalking a female public defender in the past, “John Smith” was assigned to Sheila LaRose as a client, and went on to harass her for months. “Smith” left sexually charged messages on LaRose’s work phone, tracked her to her vehicle, left lingerie on the windshield, hid in the back of her home, and even broke a bedroom window, according to the lawsuit LaRose has filed in the state of Washington. She is seeking compensation for lost wages, future wages, medical care, and counseling. In January, Smith was sentenced to seven years for felony stalking.
