South Korean Prosecutor Seeks Arrest Warrant For Samsung Chief

South Korea’s special prosecutor’s office says it will once again seek an arrest warrant for Samsung Group chief Jay Y. Lee in connection with a graft investigation that may bring down the presidency of Park Geun-hye. Last month, the Seoul Central District Court rejected the prosecution’s first request for a warrant to arrest Lee. Prosecutors questioned Lee for 15 hours on Feb. 13, and the following day announced they would seek to arrest him, as well as Vice Chariman Lee Jae-yong, on bribery, embezzlement, and hiding assets overseas. Lee would also face a perjury charge. Lee and the Samsung Group have denied wrongdoing.
