Some BigLaw Firms Promoted Only Women To Partner

Overall, 36.7 percent of the lawyers promoted to partner last year were women, according to partnership announcements from the top 100 law firms. Three firms had partnership classes made up only of women: Cravath, Swaine & Moore; Schulte Roth; and Pepper Hamilton. Eighteen other firms had partnership classes with at least 50 percent women. There were also five law firms that promoted only men: Sullivan & Cromwell; Paul Weiss; Shearman & Sterling; Cahill; and Hughes Hubbard.
