The share of proposals seeking to modify shareholder voting rules or to declassify the company’s board of directors fell, significant because these kinds of proposals are the most likely to receive majority shareholder backing. Executive compensation was a concern, with some interesting departures from approaches taken in previous years, but it wasn’t number one.
