Setting Up An Alternative Workweek In California

In some businesses, the standard eight-hour day/five-day workweek is not ideal for either employer or employee. In California, the legislature by way of the California Labor Code has set up a detailed process for setting up an “Alternative Workweek Schedule,” with advantages for both parties. One thing the AWS does is allow for a longer workday before the overtime requirement kicks in. But the process for setting up an AWS is complicated, and failure to go through the necessary steps can result in significant liability for overtime wages. Attorneys Christopher W.
