Senate Proposal Would Require More Disclosure of Political Expenditures

A “Follow the Money Act” has been proposed in the Senate by Alaska Republican Lisa Murkowski and Oregon Democrat Ron Wyden. The law would cover both super PACS and nonprofits, provided they spend more than $10,000 on an election, and require them to disclose their donors. But bundlers would still have room to operate: The bill would exempt donations of less than $1,000 from reporting requirements.
