Senate Adjourns Without Confirming Judges

Members of the Senate split town for a month-long vacation last week, after having confirmed just five judges so far in 2015. That is the fewest confirmations since 1953, according to a count by Alliance for Justice. Of the five confirmations, three were in Texas and Utah, states where both U.S. Senators are Republicans who can grease the wheels for their judicial nominations.
