SEC Taps James Schnurr Of Deloitte To Be Chief Accountant

The Securities and Exchange Commission has named James Schnurr, a former Deloitte LLP vice chairman, as its new chief accountant. Schnurr served as Deputy Managing Partner of the Audit and Enterprise Risk Services (AERS) Professional Practice in Deloitte & Touche’s National Office. Prior to that, Schnurr was a senior partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Schnurr will start in October and replace Paul Beswick, who had been in the job since 2012, the SEC said.
